Alcoholics Anonymous: Roanoke Valley

AA is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. They are not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. The primary purpose of this group is to stay sober, and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Bethany Hall: A Recovery Home for Women

Their goal is to provide women recovering from substance abuse a safe, supportive and healing environment as they acquire the tools for independent living. They provide both in-patient and day treatment. Women who are 18 and older and acknowledge their addiction to alcohol or drugs meet the requirements of the program. Fee is based on income and they accept Medicaid.
