Adult Resources:

Alcoholics Anonymous: Roanoke Valley

AA is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership. They are not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. The primary purpose of this group is to stay sober, and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

​Bethany Hall: A Recovery Home for Women​

Their goal is to provide women recovering from substance abuse a safe, supportive and healing environment as they acquire the tools for independent living. They provide both in-patient and day treatment. Women who are ages 18 and older and acknowledge their addiction to alcohol or drugs meet the requirements of the program. Fee is based on income and they accept Medicaid.

Bradley Free Clinic: HOPE Initiative

They host community-based “drop in” sessions on the second Monday of each month. Intake hours will be from 11:00AM – 4:00PM. Walk in and leave with a treatment plan!

Carilion Clinic: CONNECT

CONNECT is a confidential, 24-hour emergency evaluation and referral service provided by Carilion Clinic and available at no cost to members of our community. CONNECT is staffed by psychiatric nurses and clinical social workers who are trained to help people connect to the psychiatric and behavioral medicine support they need to function well.

Choices Recovery Center: Peer to Peer

Choices is a peer to peer support program. One Alcoholic/Addict helping another.

Through a network of volunteers and paid peer staff who have live experience, we will provide to those seeking recovery multiple services and programs.

The Rescue Mission

The Rescue Mission’s Residential Recovery Program for men and women is about intentional change for those in bondage to addiction and a lifestyle of self-abuse. Alcoholics and addicts who have lost everything, or who have run out of options and have no place to turn for a long-term structured, recovery program, may find a place to begin again.
