Local Summer Break Resources

Summer break is the longest school break of the year and you want your kids to get the most out of it!

Check out the local resources below in Roanoke City for programs to sign your children up for, all of which offer scholarships or financial aid!

Apple Ridge Farm

This Academic Summer Camp offers Roanoke’s inner-city youth ages 6-16 an opportunity to enjoy a mountain camp experience and gain life skills that will serve them in their home environments. Away from the heat and noise of inner-city streets, young people engage in activities designed to provide challenges, stimulate trust and cooperation, and build self-esteem. Boys & Girls Club

Themission is to enable all young people, especially those with the most need, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Club participation is affordable to all families. A $15 annual membership is all that is required for the after school programs. Any child, ages 5-18, is eligible for membership. Check back here regularly: we add to this page as we discover great summer programs!
